In mid-April 2021, the Christuskirche Altona became a television studio for a day.
We are already well accustomed to cameras and microphones for the streaming services. But when employees of a local television station show up in the church, things are a little different.
Pastors from Baptist congregations in and around Hamburg spent just under a day recording five recordings for the 4-minuteBroadcast 'Atempause'of the transmitterNOA-TV .
The devotions will be broadcast in and around Hamburg.
Nina Jahnel, editor, and Marco Ese, camera, took care of theLea Herbert(Großhansdorf),Ute Eberbach(Hamburg-Hamm),Cornelius Herrmann(Eimsbüttel),Stefan Stiegler(Rellingen) andCarsten Hokema(Altona), who spoke their devotions into the cameras at five different locations in, in front of or above the church (on the church tower).
The nice thing about the format of "Atempause" for the pastors is that the choice of topic is completely optional. So you don't have to deal with a specific text or a given topic, but you can choose your own content and then design it from the location.Cornelius Herrmannfor example, sit down in the empty rows of our church and think about who you would like to have next to you.Ute Eberbachstood in front of the closed church door and then in front of it. The devotion ofLea Herbertshe stood on our steps because of all the cherry blossoms. Stefan Stiegler sat at the piano and provided melodies and words.Carsten Hokemawas the last to go and climbed the church tower with the lively TV makers.
Happy and satisfied, the pastors left the grounds of our church. Then only camera and spotlight material had to be dismantled and towed away.
'Atempause' has been broadcast since the beginning of the pandemic and, according to Nina Jahnel, is a popular format. The editor was also pleased that five pastors had volunteered at the request of Hamburger Verband (Baptisten in Hamburg). It is probably not always easy to find contributors. All those involved expressed that they would be happy to be available again for a new edition.
The broadcast dates took place:
April 23rd: Lea Herbert
April 30th: Cornelius Hermann
May 7th: Ute Eberbach
14 May: Stefan Stiegler
May 21st: Carsten Hokema
